There is nothing new under the sun, wrote the author of Ecclesiastes.  This is certainly true when it comes to the word of God.  I once asked a pastor if he would mind if I basically just preached his sermon the next Sunday in a prison I was visiting.  He said he would be honored.  He then commented, “I don’t have an original bone in my body.”  With this in mind, I would like to give honor where honor is due and I want to acknowledge at the outset my heavy reliance on the following books in preparation for this series.

Spiritual Warfare: A Biblical and Balanced Perspective  – two words seldom used together: comprehensive and brief, not a single unnecessary word. Excellent!

The Christian in Complete Armour (3 Volume Set)  – the gold standard on the topic, the most widely recognized, authoritative work!  John Owen commented that if he could read only one other book besides the Bible he would choose this one.  Spurgeon, JC Ryle, David Wilkerson and countless others think as highly of it.

Precious Remedies Against Satan’s Devices  – “Satan loves to present the bait and hide the hook.”  That’s a quote!
